News from GLA...

Congratulations Ryan and Rebekah!

Your adoption of Wendylove has just been approved by IBESR. We are so happy that you have reached this important milestone in the Haitian adoption process. Next, we are preparing your dossier to enter Parquet and after you have Parquet approval, your adoption will enter the courts where Wendylove will legally become your child and take your family name of HUBLEY.

I will share more information with you as we proceed through these steps but currently Parquet is taking 3 to 6 months to approve adoptions. We continue to pray that they improve this timeline.

Rebekah- Thanks for your comment on our blog! You really think May/June...that would be terrific! Congratulations to your family as well. Your family is such an encouragment to me. Very, very precious children. Before "mommyhood" I was a P.T. and had the opportunity to work with some kids (mostly babies.) You are doing such an awesome job with your kiddos. What a blessing to me to see your faith and strength. I hope we do meet in Haiti...I would consider it a privilege!!!

Sorry, I forgot to explain: this is not a new adoption...Wendylove is Jonas's Haitian name. He is here on a medical visa, and the adoption is being processed while he is here receiving medical attention. We praise God for this opportunity daily!!!

Phyl: yes, this is good news. IBESR is Haitian Social Services, and they review your child's history and the adoptive family's dossier, and they decide if you are permitted to continue on with the adoption. Now, since everything is okayed by them, technically it just needs to go through all of the other offices and get signatures and legalizations, etc...
