Cooking 101...

Hannah is finally much more willing to try and do more things... I think knowing that she has a sister that loves to do some of these things, makes her much more willing to try... So, the other night we had a 'cooking class.' It was gourmet cooking at it's best: Hamburger helper. No, not healthy, but there are a lot of easy steps and she had a lot of fun. The end product looks REALLY GROSS, but it tasted good!!! Plus, we were 'mostly' one on one in the kitchen... She had a lot of fun doing this together. It is kind of like polishing her nails: Once I can convince her to try it, she likes it...

BTW: Please ignore my appearance in these pics!!! Ryan was at class all day and I did not go out anywhere. I am not even sure if I had brushed my hair: By looking at it, I did not... :-) And the wall: We are painting the back part of the kitchen that brick red, I just need to finish it...

***If you have the time, Hannah LOVES when you all leave comments about her posts!!!!!!!! She smiles from ear to ear when I read them to her! So, go ahead, make Hannah smile and leave a comment...

All right Hannah!
Was it better to eat something you helped cook yourself?
What's next on your list - spaghetti?
brownies?
Keep it up!

Hi Hannah! My daughter is 6 and wants to go to "Chef School" for college someday. But, I can't get her in the kitchen much to help me at home... she would rather play! Don't you think she should try being my helper? I'll show her your pictures and maybe she'll want to try more, too! Way to go!

Rebekah, I'm praying for the Chinese officials to find favor upon you and your family so that Chun Yan can join your family. Of course I'm also praying for the dispensation needed for Jonas' adoption, too! Your family is an inspiration to us. If you can do it, we can too! Another adoption is on our hearts for "someday" and seeing you on your way is an encouragement to us! Yes, we may just meet in Haiti, but maybe before. We are planning a trip to Indy this summer to catch up with old friends. Maybe we can meet some new ones, too! God bless you all!

Hannah, you are so grown up! I didn't make Hamburger Helper until I was in college!

Way to go Hannah. My daughters think Hamburger Helper is a treat and would have loved to sample your first meal. It looks like it was a success.

Holy cow Rebekah, is that you??? I am pretty sure you weigh less than Hannah! Look how skinny you are. Apparently you aren't eating any of the delectable things you are teaching Hannah to make. I guess you better go through your closet and send me all your size 4's since you're a zero now.

Great job Hannah! My daughter is 6and loves to help cook too. She says she wants to be a "cooker" when she is grown up, but she often changes her mind. What do you want to be when you're older?

Hi Hannah! Your food looks so delicious I want to come over for dinner. When you come for a visit, you will have to bring your recipe to fix for our family, okay?

I love you, Sweetie!

Hi Hannah!!

First of all, the final product did not look gross, it looked delicious and I wish I could have a bite right now. Hmmm, I'm hungry.

Second, you look JUST like your beautiful Mom. Every time I see this blog and see new pix of you, I am amazed.

Third, would you please stop getting older? You seem to be turning into a woman and if we could slow things down a little that would be super.

So, when are you going to come to LA and cook for me?

Kitchens full of love,
Al
