All Done and In Our Room...

Micah has been out of surgery for a few hours now. They gave him morphine right before the surgery was over, so it took a while to wake up in post-op. We are up in room 4016 and he is doing well. Aside from "starving", he says... ;-) He is waiting on his dinner... Dr. Young said the surgery went perfect, and he did not have to do a laminectomy (removing 2 horns on his spine). He was able to access the tether from his original surgery and defect. He released the spinal cord from the scar tissue and then removed abnormal spinal roots that were not functioning. Instantly when these nerve roots were severed, his cord released and came up 1/2 inch to 1 inch. This is great news!!!! Best possible outcome!!! He will be flat until tomorrow morning. thanks for your prayers!!!!!!!!!!!!!
